As we gather with family and friends to celebrate this season of joy, togetherness and reflection, let us remember that the holidays can be a challenging time for many in our community.
Reflecting on the recent passing of my Aunt Pearl, I want to recognize people who are carrying heavy hearts. For those of us who have lost a loved one, for those struggling with their mental health, or those who may feel isolated or alone - this is not always the most wonderful time of the year.
This season let's open our hearts a little wider, extend our hands a little further, and make sure everyone feels seen, supported and cared for. A small act of kindness, a warm smile, or a check-in call can make all the difference for someone.
May this season remind us of the true spirit of the holidays: generosity, compassion, and love for one another.
